Republican · House District 13 · Position 2
Veteran. Business Leader. Neighbor. Ready to serve Kittitas County.
U.S. Army Veteran
Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Army at 18, serving across Germany, Alaska, Missouri, Kansas, and California before joining the Oregon National Guard. His military service instilled a lifelong commitment to duty and honor — values he carries into every community role he holds today.
Kittitas County Neighbor
Jeff and his wife Ann made Ellensburg their permanent home in 2016. He's active in the community he seeks to serve — giving back through the Rotary, the Rodeo Board, and organizations that support local youth and families.
Business Leader
Jeff was part of the founding team of Tim's Cascade Style Potato Chips in Auburn, WA — spending nearly two decades building a Pacific Northwest icon. He rose through the company and eventually led the Pennsylvania snack division, creating jobs and navigating real-world markets.
Your Representative
Jeff brings a lifetime of proven leadership to Olympia. Not a career politician — a veteran, business builder, and neighbor committed to the values, families, and future of District 13.
About Jeff
Jeff Leichleiter has spent his life serving in uniform, building businesses, and giving back to the community he calls home. He and his wife Ann have made Ellensburg their permanent home — and he's ready to bring that same work ethic to Olympia.
Jeff was part of the founding team of Tim's Cascade Style Potato Chips in Auburn, WA, spending nearly two decades building a Pacific Northwest icon. He rose through the company and led the Pennsylvania snack division. That experience — managing teams, navigating markets, creating jobs — is exactly the kind of real-world leadership Kittitas County needs in Olympia.
Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Army at 18, serving across Germany, Alaska, Missouri, Kansas, and California before joining the Oregon National Guard. His service didn't end with his discharge — he continues to support fellow veterans through the Kittitas County Veterans Advisory Board (appointed through December 2027) and the American Legion.
Jeff and his wife Ann made Ellensburg their permanent home in 2016. He's deeply invested in the community he seeks to serve — as a member of the Ellensburg Rotary, the Ellensburg Rodeo Board, the Boys & Girls Club Columbia Basin, and as a Republican Precinct Committee Officer. He understands the issues facing rural families from the inside out.
Priorities
Jeff will cut red tape, reduce the regulatory burden on small businesses, and create the conditions for jobs to grow right here in Kittitas County. Real economic opportunity starts with getting government out of the way.
Agriculture is the backbone of Central Washington's economy. Jeff will protect water rights, fight burdensome regulations that threaten family farms, and champion the farmers and ranchers who feed our state and nation.
Working families are being squeezed by rising costs. Jeff will oppose tax increases that hit everyday Washingtonians the hardest and fight for policies that keep housing, energy, and groceries affordable for District 13 families.
Our communities deserve to feel safe. Jeff will support law enforcement, back policies that hold criminals accountable, and oppose measures that undermine public safety in our rural towns and neighborhoods.
Every child in Kittitas County deserves a great education and a future here at home. Jeff will support local school funding, vocational training, and programs that give young people the tools to thrive in rural Washington.
As a veteran himself, Jeff knows that keeping our commitments to those who served is not optional. He will fight for improved veterans' services, mental health support, and policies that honor military families across Washington State.
Olympia shouldn't impose urban priorities on rural communities. Jeff will stand up for the Second Amendment, property rights, and the self-reliant culture that makes Central Washington unique — protecting the way of life District 13 families have built.
